Anya Kashina

Anya Kashina makes paintings and works on paper that are to do with destabilising representation, where the works invite the viewer into a process of looking, rather than presenting any fixed meaning. Her process begins with photographs or drawings of objects and spaces in the real world, but the resulting paintings move beyond depiction through layering, stencilling and repetition.
