— Emily Lennox, Managing Director of London Gallery Weekend.
Over the course of three days, London Gallery Weekend features a diverse selection of galleries, with each day spotlighting different areas of London. Free and open to all, London Gallery Weekend invites attendees to explore the city’s vibrant gallery scene, featuring over 130 galleries spread across East, South, and Central London. The event also includes talks, workshops, special events, and curated routes designed by leading artists and creatives, available both online and as in-person tours. In partnership with Art Fund, London Gallery Weekend further supports the UK's art community by funding regional curators.
In this post, we are excited to highlight the remarkable success of London Gallery Weekend’s latest edition, with events held from 29 May to 2 June. The event saw over 10,000 bookings made through ARTSVP, marking a significant milestone in boosting brand awareness, centralising bookings across multiple venues, and enhancing footfall. By streamlining the visitor experience and providing data insights, our tools played a crucial role in ensuring the event's success across its participating galleries.
Scroll down as we delve into how ARTSVP supported London Gallery Weekend in achieving these results, offering insights into the strategies that fuelled its success.
Boosting brand awareness and centralising bookings
ARTSVP was used to handle bookings across the numerous galleries hosting exhibitions and running event. By providing a unified booking system, we facilitated the event to maintain a consistent brand presence across the multiple locations, ensuring that all visitors had a cohesive experience, regardless of which part of London they were exploring.
This centralised system not only streamlined operations but also provided valuable data on visitor behaviour, which could be analysed to enhance future editions. The ability to manage bookings across various venues from a single platform ensured that the London Gallery Weekend brand was consistently represented, reinforcing its identity. Visitors could easily browse through the diverse array of galleries and events, selecting those they wished to attend without the need to navigate multiple platforms or websites.
VIP Programs and Tailored Experiences
ARTSVP also provided tools for managing VIP programs and events, enabling London Gallery Weekend team to create exclusive experiences for high-profile guests, including private viewings and special events. These programs bundled multiple events into a single, easy-to-share link, simplifying the distribution process and encouraging attendees to explore more galleries and events than they might have otherwise. This feature was particularly effective in increasing engagement, as it provided a straightforward way for visitors to plan their weekend and discover new galleries. Moreover, the event was able to attract a diverse range of attendees, from casual art enthusiasts to collectors.
Coordination and flexibility: access to individual events and guest lists
The functionality of sharing access to individual events and guest lists empowered galleries to manage their own events within the larger framework of London Gallery Weekend, offering them the flexibility to personalise their approach while staying aligned with the overall event branding.
Galleries could easily access and manage their guest lists, allowing for a more tailored and intimate experience for their visitors. By providing this capability, we ensured that each gallery could offer a unique yet cohesive experience, contributing to the overall success of the weekend.
