The Treasure House Fair, set within the historic Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, is a premier event showcasing a remarkable blend of art and design. Over six days in late June, seventy of the world's leading dealers, each vetted by independent experts, present their finest works. Co-founders Thomas Woodham-Smith and Harry Van der Hoorn, leveraging their experience from the original Masterpiece fair, have created a unique event enhanced by spacious aisles, high ceilings and a charming garden terrace.

The most recent edition of The Treasure House Fair last month saw a substantial increase in footfall, thanks in part to the use of ARTSVP’s exhibitor portals and the latest update that allowed them to work with booking links as well as invites.
With many prestigious events vying for attention, standing out and attracting a large, diverse audience is definitely crucial for the fair’s success. The addition of booking links to portals enabled exhibitors to distribute their own booking links via newsletter and social channels, harnessing their networks to spread the word about the fair. This helped increase visitor numbers and broaden the fair's reach.

These booking links were disseminated through various channels to multiple people. By leveraging the exhibitors’ existing relationships and networks, the fair accessed a vast pool of potential attendees who might have otherwise been missed.
Furthermore, the inclusion of booking links greatly simplified the invitation process. Exhibitors could easily send invites to their top clients, while their newsletter subscribers and followers could book through their links, making it straightforward to attend the fair.

Benefits of using ARTSVP

For the fairs

  • Increased Reach: By providing each exhibitor with an allocation of invites and a unique booking link, fairs make it easy for exhibitors to draw in their own clients.
  • Higher Footfall: Allowing exhibitors to easily share their own link booking link contributed to a notable increase in footfall. The ease of booking attracted more visitors, resulting in higher attendance numbers.
  • Streamlining and simplification: Portals not only allowed exhibitors to be in control of their own guests and benefit from knowing who was coming and when, but also the fair could easily monitor numbers and communicate with individual exhibitors through the portal.

Ultimately, utilising portals has generally improved the fair's marketing efforts. By enabling exhibitors to act as ambassadors and spread the word through booking links, the fair significantly increased its footfall. The streamlined process allowed for a more efficient and extensive distribution of invites, contributing to a much larger reach. This approach highlights the powerful impact of innovative digital tools in enhancing event reach and attendance.

For the exhibitors: empowering galleries

After the transition to digital passes, art fairs have been dealing with many challenges in their VIP invitation process. GDPR concerns have led some galleries to hesitate in sharing client details, while exhibitors themselves struggled to keep track on who could attend.

The portals allow galleries to distribute their own invites to their clients, ensuring a more personalised and streamlined approach. The benefits for galleries using portals include:
  • Keeping track of who’s been invited, who has booked in and received their pass
  • Activity feed to see when invites were sent
  • Ability to customise the invite copy when sending invite, sending invite reminders through ARTSVP
  • Notification emails when guests book and check in
  • Support from the ARTSVP team
