Check-in

All plans

On the night, the guest list becomes the door list. Check-in records each guest’s arrival, and your team works from Check-in Mode: a distraction-free door view of the live guest list that runs in the browser on any phone, tablet, or laptop, with no app to install. Any team member can check guests in — including the Check-in only role, made for door staff (see Teams).

Check-in Mode

Open Check-in from All Guests or an event’s Guestlist. The door team sees:

  • every expected guest, grouped by booking, with search to find people fast;
  • a live meter of arrivals against expected guests;
  • Walk In, to add and check in an unexpected guest on the spot;
  • Guest list and Scanner in the bar at the bottom of the screen — the camera is the same door, one tap away;
  • a Check-in mode banner with Exit check-in mode, so staff always know they are in door view.

Tap a guest to check them in; tap again to undo a mistake. Switch to Scanner for the camera, or back to Guest list to find someone by name. Every check-in updates in real time for the whole team, so several doors can work at once without double-admitting anyone. One thing to be aware of: browser check-in needs an internet connection. Dedicated scanning devices can keep scanning offline — see Scanners.

Re-entry

A Single Entry ticket checks in once. A Multiple Entry ticket — a fair pass, say — can be scanned again on re-entry. Set this per ticket in Tickets and pricing.

The check-in window

Tickets can be scanned from the event’s check-in window onwards — up to 12 hours before the slot, configured in Booking settings. This stops a Tuesday ticket being used on Monday.

Tip: Rehearse once before doors: open Check-in Mode on the actual device, scan a test ticket, and check the meter moves. Five minutes here saves a queue later.
