Ticket Design Overview
Expert
A ticket design is the look of everything a guest holds at the door: the web ticket on their confirmation page, the Apple Wallet pass on an iPhone, and the Google Wallet pass on Android. One design drives all three surfaces, so a collector who books a private view sees the same colours and imagery whether they open the confirmation email or tap the pass in their wallet.
Every plan ships the standard ARTSVP ticket: white, black text, your QR code. On the Expert plan you can design your own, and the plan includes one custom design. Additional designs are arranged with support. Designs live under Settings → Design → Ticket Designs, and the designer itself opens from Open the designer on that page.
The three surfaces
| Surface | What you control | What is fixed |
|---|---|---|
| Web ticket | Background colour and font colour | Layout, QR code, the booking details shown |
| Apple Wallet pass | Background colour, text and label colours (automatic or custom), logo text, icon, logo and strip images, every field on the front and back | The QR code |
| Google Wallet pass | Background colour, issuer name, event name and venue name lines, logo, wide logo and hero images, card rows and pass details | Text colour (chosen by Google), the date and time row, the QR code |
The web ticket is the plainest of the three by design: it must print cleanly and read on any screen, so it takes colours only. The wallet passes are where the imagery and custom fields live. Each has its own page: Apple Wallet passes and Google Wallet passes.
From draft to the door
- Open the designer and shape the design against the live preview. Edits are kept as a local draft until you save, so a closed tab loses nothing.
- Save design names it and makes it available to your events. An existing design is live, so its button reads Publish changes instead.
- Assign the design to an event, or to individual tickets within an event.
- Guests who book from then on receive tickets and passes in that design.
Published changes reach passes issued from that moment on. A pass already on a guest’s phone keeps the look it was added with; adding it again from the ticket picks up the new design. Finalise a design before sending tickets when every guest must receive the same appearance.
Assigning a design
Assign a design in two places:
- Per event, under the event’s Settings → Advanced → Ticket design, so every ticket for that event carries it. No design falls back to the standard ARTSVP ticket.
- Per ticket, in the ticket’s own settings (see Tickets and pricing), when a single ticket type should look different. A design set on a ticket overrides the event’s.
Because the plan includes one custom design, a VIP ticket and a general admission ticket cannot carry different custom looks unless a second design has been arranged; distinguish tiers by ticket name and entry time instead.
What guests need switched on
For guests to add passes to their phones, two of the event’s booking settings must be on: Issue Scannable Tickets and Enable Add to Wallet (see Booking settings). Designs apply on screen and in wallet passes only; emailed and printed PDF tickets always use the standard ARTSVP layout.
